After studying film in Montpellier, Hugo David worked for a time on a local TV series before being entrusted by Jean-Baptiste Durand, his former professor, with directing the making-of documentary for his feature film Chien de la casse, shot in late 2021. It was during this shoot that he met Raphaël Quenard, and their first short film L’Acteur was born — a project for which they would both receive César nominations. This collaboration continued with the feature film I Love Peru, released in cinemas in 2025 and selected for the 78th edition of the Cannes Film Festival. Today, Hugo is a writer on various projects while developing his second feature film.
